About TMSC
Q: How did TMSC begin?
Leroy Jones: I’d been working toward improving human services delivery programs for over 15 years. I’d worked with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Institute for Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, the Office of Economic Opportunity, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Justice Department, and the Department of Education. I was committed to continuing work in the arena. I thought a small business environment that could work on local and state levels as well as the federal level would be more efficient and effective. We could extend successful design, development and management across the spectrum.
Q: What kinds of programs had you worked in?
L.J.: Oh, let’s see. I led projects such as: Child Support Enforcement, the Child Development Associate Project -- a training program for Head Start and child care teachers, NIDA -- a job training program for former drug addicts, training courses for alcoholism service providers, and English as a Second Language training for Immigrants.
Q: What areas has TMSC worked in?
L.J.: TMSC has remained committed to human services delivery programs. We’ve worked in job training. We’ve run family shelters that incorporate job training and drug and alcohol abuse counseling. We’ve been Head Start’s clearinghouse and distribution center for fifteen years. Most recently, we’ve increased our emphasis on knowledge management practices as a prime means to more efficiently and effectively extend the use of successful practices while enabling professional growth for our client’s audiences.
Q: What do you consider TMSC’s most notable accomplishments to be?
L.J.: Successful relationships with partner firms and our clients have been key to the collaborative nature of our work. We have a solid reputation for delivering significant value-added results for our clients while we have implemented and maintained a family-friendly work environment.
